Cold brew coffee. It's delicious, it's quick, it's easy (almost dangerously so). I've put the recipe on here before years ago (the photos are terrible, sorry) but it's worth a repost.
We've been having some super hot days here and there so this and popsicles are the only way I'm staying sane in our apartment without A/C. I guzzled down two glasses before 11am (it made for a productive morning)
Here's how to make it:
In a jar, stir together 2/3 cup coarse coffee grounds and 3 cups water
Cover and put it in the refrigerator overnight or at least 12 hours
In the morning, strain twice through a fine-mesh sieve lined with cheesecloth (Alternately you could press through a french press)
Drink as is or add milk, half&half, sugar or whatever else you normally add to coffee!

I remember that first post, It's crazy how much we change and how much better we get at things with practice. These photos are great and now I really want to make this for tomorrow morning!
ReplyDeletecoldbrew coffee is the only coffee i'll drink! these look so tasty!

I lived on this when I wrote my thesis last summer! I swear, writing my thesis during the record-hot summer months, was killing me. But waking up to cold coffee made from this recipe, made it bearable :)
ReplyDeleteNow it has become a tradition, whenever the weather gets warm, to let the coffee get real strong overnight, and make it in the mornings.
This sounds delicious! Thank you for the french press tip, I'll definitely be making use of this over the summer.
ReplyDeleteyum! I really want to make some cold pressed coffee now that it's warmer outside :)
