my husband and his brother have been working on a comic book. the first printing arrived today, along with a bunch of paper strips. Mosey had a blast hiding in it, and pouncing on it.
(info about the comic book here, it's really neat)

i consumed plenty of these no-bake cookies today. i had almost forgot about a childhood favorite of mine, until sheena posted about them a bit ago.
they are too easy and i spruced mine up to be healthy (somewhat??)
she called them gorilla poops, and i liked that so thats what i'm calling them now.

makes about 20

1/2 cup pure agave (you can sub sugar if you must!)
1/4 cup baking cocoa
1/4 cup milk (almond milk was great)
1/4 cup extra virgin coconut oil
1/4 cup peanut butter
2 cups old fashioned rolled oats
1 teaspoon vanilla
pinch of salt

In a medium sauce pan mix agave nectar and baking cocoa. Add milk and coconut oil. Stir over medium heat, and bring to a boil. Boil for one minute. Remove from heat. Stir in peanut butter, vanilla, salt and oats. Drop by spoonfuls onto lined cookie sheets. Stick the pan into the refrigerator until the mounds are set, then eat away.

  5. Oh mosey!!!!! Minty Lols keep asking when he's coming over, they think their new pen will keep him in.

And I used the exact same recipe! I used coconut oil like you suggested...delicious. But then Patrick realized they were so good and ate a ton which is probably good since they're healthier. So healthy in fact I am eating them for breakfast right now....oops! And yeah! Make me a case too. Maybe I can make something for you and we'll trade. A shirt that says VABERSI across it. Perfect.Welcome.

  7. I found you on foodgawker. A couple questions about the recipe.... How many cookies did it make and in the directions you mention "butter" but I don't see that in the ingredient list. Please clarify.

I plan to make these, but will sub almond milk for regular milk to veganize them :)

    Thanks,

  8. hey carolyn,

i just pasted the directions from somewhere else and forgot to change "butter" to "coconut oil".

i also added that it makes about 20, depending on the size.

I hope you enjoy them, they are great with almond milk!

  16. I was just in Ohio and tasted my first "no bake" at the Toledo Zoo gift shop. I don't like stuff super sweet and halved the agave for this recipe. Delicious!

    1. I used 1/4 cup of Agave and mine ended up a little dry. I added a slash of milk at the end to increase moisture, but the cookies still ended up dry. Next time I will add more almond milk or peanut butter or coconut oil (or maybe a combo) to make up for the lost moisture.

I will also consider adding 3/8 cup Agave.

No matter, it's fun and tasty!
